Turns #21-#23

Figure 1 - Carelessness on the East coast |
I was too eager and
over-confident so a made a big mistake. FA/A Bty should never have been that
far ahead and took 5 HP losses from the RT's M3 Stuart (and I think it also
took some fire from a M3 75mm GMC hidden in the fog of war) during the AI's
turn #20. I didn't quite forget about the RT's Stuart but I got used to it
showing up along the West coast and forgot that I had X/Cav/A Coy blocking that
bridge.

Figure 2 - Dealing with the counterattack |
Cav/A Coy (my core M3
Stuart) quickly changes flanks to assist and supported by FA/B Coy inflicts 4 HP
damage to the pesky RT tank on turn #21. In the AI's turn the GMC comes out of
the fog of war and joins the Stuart trying to press the attack on Cav/A Coy.

Figure 4 - These pesky mechanized units don't die easily |
X/A Coy and X/Cav/A
Coy attack the RT's Stuart on turn #22 and the tank-vs.-tank combat results in
the RT's Stuart retreat. Only when preparing this image did I realize the
massive drop in efficiency that retreat caused. 1/C and Cav/A Coys attack the
RT's GMC for a whopping 7 HP damage. In the AI's turn the RT's Stuart and GMC
continue to press their attack and isolate Cav/A Coy.

Figure 6 - Finally |
In turn #23 a cut-off
and heavily damaged Cav/A Coy delivers the coup-de-grace on a 1 HP Stuart that
should have retreated a long time ago. FA/B Bty shells the GMC for 2 HP damage
and 1/C Coy attacks it for another 2 HP damage causing it to retreat beyond the
bunker.

Figure 7 - East coast, turn 23 |
At the end of turn #23 the RT's mechanised counter-attack has been defeated, the bunker is half-destroyed by the combined attack of X/Eng/A and X/USMC/A Coys and the US Recruits garrisoning the secondary VP are spotted by X/USMC/B Coy.
