Order of Battle: World War II, Boot Camp (tutorial), Mission 4: War Games, Part 12

Now that the mission has been completed let's lift the veil of the Fog of War and look at what we faced. Figure 1 depicts the map during deployment and yes, I took the screenshots before playing the mission, I'm not playing blind.

The OPFOR has a lot of units but the vast majority is static in defensive positions so it is trivial to achieve local superiority, even overwhelmingly so. The units that are free to react are usually weaker (U.S. Recruits), act singly and not particularly aggressively. They might be dangerous if the player is reckless and advances isolated units.

There are a lot of Anti-Tank units scattered around the map that will probably give some headaches to a player that relies heavily on Tanks without Infantry and/or Artillery support.

There's a particular challenge right at the start with land units aboard transports being vulnerable to the Coastal Gun and the Destroyers. This was evident when one of the Supply Ships was badly mauled by the latter. That was my fault trying to hoard XP for my core units. I could have used the auxiliary destroyers or I could have delayed the auxiliary beachhead until the threat was neutralized or even both.

I think I have the right approach towards enemy artillery: don't get shot at unless you really, really have to; kill them first; kill them quickly. This may result in a slower tempo than a more aggressive stance, or not once you consider added time to repair damage and/or regain efficiency.

Figure 2 - OPFOR datasheets

Figure 2 is the OPFOR units' datasheet. The DD Gleaves is missing for some reason or another but can be found in the previous mission. I think the only novelty is the AA Gun.
