By the end of turn 3 (Figure 1) the first wave landed and is being supplied. VP3 moved slightly inland and revealed three more units: an AA battery by the northern Supply Depot, a US Recruits by the railway fork and an Engineer occupying the central Supply Depot. The Green Team destroyers fully block the mouth of the bay and the heavier ships start demolishing the OPFOR's DDs. A P40 Warhawk has come out to play and is being engaged by VF1 and 2 with heavy damage on both sides.

Figure 2 focuses on the beachheads at the end of turn 4. The first wave is regaining efficiency and repairing damage (the auxiliary Engineer was attacked by an OPFOR Recruits). The Supply Ship assisting the auxiliaries took heavy damage from the OPFOR's DDs. The second wave is at the shoreline ready to disembark.

Figure 3 is an overview of the Area of Operations early in turn 5. VP3 is orbiting inland, no news is good news. In the bay the last OPFOR DD is sunk. By the Airfield near the Port the OPFOR P40 is shot down and the fighters spot one AT gun and an M3 Stuart light tank. Two auxiliary Paratroopers arrive aboard their C47 transports at the top left corner of the map.

Figure 4 illustrates a small hiccup at the auxiliaries' beachhead. The Supply Ship took more damage and is no longer able to fully supply the units ashore. The situation is resolved (Figure 5) with the second wave landing, two DDs and the auxiliary CA picking up the slack.

Figure 5 - 2nd wave ashore |
At the core beachhead (Figure 6) all units are ashore and the bunker is destroyed. Note the placement of the artillery, with a five tile range they have a target-rich environment.

There's a number of loose ends by the end of this post that should be tied up in the next. The images pertaining to turns 3 to 5 add up to close to two megabytes and I'm trying to spread them evenly over two posts in a way that makes some sense.
